Celebrating the stage career of Paul Aucott
brings together some of the area's leading musical theatre performers from today and yesteryear to celebrate the stage career of one of Northamptonshire's legendary theatre directors and actors. Paul, who sadly passed away at the age of 67 in May of this year, was an innovative and exciting musical theatre director who raised the bar for local theatrical societies from the 1970's through to the 1990's staging some memorable productions such as West Side Story for WAODS, Cabaret and for IES and Kettering Theats, Mame and The Pirates of Penzance for The Hillside Theatre Group, Oklahoma for CATS, The Student Prince for KOS, The Hired Man for IES and Carousel for RAOS. Many of you will have fond memories of Paul's shows either as a performer or an audience member. Paul was the area's most sought after local directors for many years and had the respect of everyone involved in the local theatre scene.
IES, based in Irthlingborough, was arguably the leading local musical theatre group who produced many successful area premieres. The oldIES cast is made up of mainly former IES members, who are delighted to have the opportunity to show their appreciation of Paul's input to the local performing arts, along with a few sons and daughters of IES members.
oldIES includes songs from traditional musical theatre classics including My Fair Lady, Cabaret, The King and I, Barnum, Sunset Boulevard, Jesus Christ Superstar, Les Miserables and Phantom of the Opera.
All profits from oldIES will be donated to PROSTATE CANCER UK
